# ArtMap

ArtMap lets players paint pixel art directly onto Minecraft maps in-game using dyes and special tools. Finished artworks can be saved, displayed in item frames, and browsed by other players.

## **What you need to craft**

You need three things to get started. Use `/artmap` in-game to see all recipes.

* **Easel** - the stand you paint on.&#x20;
* **Canvas** - craft with leather, empty maps, and sticks.
* **Paintbrush** - used to save your finished painting.

Optional tools: dyes (your colors), coal (darken a color), feather (lighten a color), sponge (eyedropper/sample a color), paint bucket (fill tool), compass (flip canvas).

## **How to paint**

1. Place an easel by right-clicking the ground.
2. Right-click the easel while holding a canvas to attach it.
3. Right-click the easel again to sit down and enter painting mode.
4. Hold a dye and **left-click** to color one pixel. **Right-click and drag** to draw lines.
5. Crouch (shift) to exit the easel without saving.

**Warning:** Breaking an easel without saving will destroy your unsaved artwork. **ALWAYS** save artwork before logging off as they **reset** after the server restarts.

## **Brush tools**

## **Saving your artwork**

When you're done, run `/artmap save <title>.` You'll be prompted to name your artwork. Once saved, it becomes a finished map item you can put in an item frame.

## **Browsing artworks**

Type `/artmap` to open the GUI. From here you can browse saved artworks by player, view your own pieces.
